I suspect there will be a better “About” page here eventually. But for now… Hello. I run the Bath Time blog. This does not make me any sort of expert on baths or bathing whatsoever. I just like sitting in the bathtub. I don’t have a fancy tub either. Mine is as generic as a tub-shower combo can get.
Taking a bath is too often an occasional “luxury” that people afford themselves only once or twice a month - if at all. Some people have never taken a bath beyond their early childhood years. There is a misconception that baths need to be some kind of mystical, life-changing experience akin to some sort of spiritual yoga position.
I don’t agree with that. It CAN be. But for the average person, it can be a simple escape from the everyday grind. Most people say it’s too much trouble to take a bath. What trouble? Plug up the drain, turn on the tap and fill it up. Add bubble bath formula if you like. Get in. Sit or lie down. Relax completely, or think. 1/2 hour tops or you get pruny. Wash, rinse if you desire. Dry off. Drain tub, maybe scrub or spray with cleaner if it’s dirty.
Total time taken out of your life probably equals 1 hour, though I’ve been known to speed bathe in 20 minutes. But hey, you were going to take your 15 minute shower anyhow, right? Skip it and hit the bath instead. Showers are efficient, but only clean your outsides. Baths go deeper. Have a work problem you can’t solve? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve taken a tough issue into the tub and exited with it cracked without even trying.
Okay… so we know that taking a bath all the time isn’t realistic. I take a good number of showers myself. And we’ll be talking about basically anything having to do with the bathroom in general, including shower stuff. But the main focus of this blog is bringing the whole idea of the bath back down to earth. It’s a simple relaxing thing, nothing more. Our motto is: Baths Rule. Try one today, I’m sure you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
