Bath Tub Safety Grip - Bathtime at Bloglander

OK I know this might seem like a gimmick, and it’s probably featured on those “As Seen On TV” type commericals. Still, I think they’ve on the right track. So I wouldn’t count it out, especially for the elderly or disabled. The idea is a simple rubber grip handle that has strong suction cups that you can stick onto a bathtub wall for an instant handle.

Pros: the removal makes it easy to attach to any smooth surface on the bathroom. This is nice because there’s no tile drilling involved and you can move it to where it’s needed.

Cons: I would hesitate about the strength of the suction cups. However, most reviews I read said that the suction was extremely reliable. I would hesitate to apply this to any surface that looks porous (i.e like brick or rough tile) and I think an important issue is to make sure that the suction cup does not fall across one of the tile edges where there is grout. That’s sure to cause issues. I’d make sure it contacts only the perfectly smooth tile.
