Warmrails Heatra Towel Warmer
October 26, 2006
Living in balmy Southern California, I haven’t seen the need for a towel rack warmer / dryer. Except maybe for those lcolder days in the winter. However, I do take a lot of baths and showers (sometimes more than once a day) and it might be nice to have a completely dry towel without having to get a new one from the closet.
Enter the Heatra Classic Towel Warmer and Drying Rack made by Warmrails. This interestingly designed “zig-zag” shaped rack can be used either on the wall or freestanding (there are attachable feet on bottom). I’ve seen a few other towel warmers (some also from Warmrails” that are “grid shaped” instead of “S-shaped”. This particular one seemed quite cheaper, though.
Now, my main use for this would be to get towels dry. However, if you want your towels really toasty warm it seems like that this might not be for you. Scores of people report that towels get dry but not toasty warm evenly all over. This is probably understandable, especially since it’s such a low power device (evidently less than a light bulb). I think I would mainly use it just for drying out wet towels anyhow. Maybe for drying out swimsuits too. If you really want warm towels I’ve heard that covering the towels with another one or bunching them near the coils will distribute the heat better. If not, you might want to opt for a model with higher powered heating elements.
This one measures 26 x 10 1/2 x 37 1/2 Inches, so make sure you have enough wall space if you’re going to mount it.
