sylko - I really don't like Carl's Jr nowadays and their 6 dollar burgers (I have tried them many times at different locations) are terrible.

lin - there is no need to go postal, these are all just opinions by average folks. (If I was a real food reviewer, I'd be raking it in like Jonathan Gold instead of spending quality time taking pictures of food). As to your comments - the mushrooms ARE bedraggled, but there are plenty of them, as I said in the post. I DID NOT ask for extra mayo, as I said in the post I ordered it AS IS. What you see in the picture is what I got. It does contain mayo, according to the official nutritional information for that exact burger on the Mcdonalds: "Angus Beef Patty, Premium Bun, Natural Swiss Cheese, Mushrooms, MAYONNAISE DRESSING, Premium Seasoning, Grill Seasoning, Liquid Margarine."

And as I said, overall I LIKED these burgers. My advice to you - please read the entire post before commenting and refrain from unnecessary personal attack.

Rat Bastard, whatever you ate, it was not a Third Pounder. They are not tasteless. Obviously, you have dysfunctinoal taste buds.

First, let me say I disagree with this review of the Third Pounder. I have had several of them and had the Swiss and Mushroom just yesterday. The hamburgers are fantastic, and they taste like beef from the midwest, which I am from, so I know what I am talking about. The mushrooms are NOT bedraggled and there are plenty of them. If the reviewer got mayonnaise on his, he must have asked for it, because it is just mushrooms and swiss cheese. My favorite one is the one with lettuce and red onions. It is better than In-N-Out. Several other people I know also love this new hamburger. It is not greasy and drippy, which is fine with me. The buns are not standard size. This burger AND the bun are large! Ace is WRONG! My daughter has had several of the bacon kind and it was NOT dry. What did you do Ace..let it sit and reheat it?! That is what it sounds like you did. My daughter thinks these are some of the best hamburgers she has ever had. No, she is not a little kid. My advice to people who have not tried these, do NOT believe the negative posters! I do not like McDonld's food, but I do like these third pounders. They are delicious.

I love Carl's Jr. I don't like their Six Dollar Burgers (the portabello mushroom swiss one was really good, but the rest are just too big). I don't like their fries though. The Famous Star is great. I'm not a big In N Out fan. I like their fries and the burgers are good, but I just don't love them the way other people do.

rat bastard - "you go there if nothing else is around" - yep, exactly.

joshua - no idea when it's going national...

marvo - ahaha... I was planning on overnighting a "live" McAngus to you just for fun, but the shipping would cost 2 or 3 times the burger.

ace - the burger was indeed dry. But at least it didn't give me the crappers...

jim - I've got the snack wraps, those are decent. Bit small though...

dan - hmm, I have to completely disagree... the potential morphing of the word "angus" seems just as dangerous as "McAngus". But maybe this is why I'm no linguist. Actually, if I was marketing, I would have voted for the "McDangus", hahaha... that dang Angus Burger. or perhaps "Real Meat Burger"...

...I’m still trying to figure out why they didn’t name it the “McAngus” burger, it’s just smoother than saying “Angus Third Pounder”...

This seems real obvious to me but perhaps the common SoCal language dialects would not make this more obvious to you. McAngus is a horrible name. The pronunciation of McAngus and McAnus are simply to close. This would be an easy mis-pronunciation for folks with certain accents to make. The term Angus, without the leading "Mc" prefix, is not as prone to such mis-pronunciation.

McD's business strategy has long relied on extensive marketing (both in terms of research and in the actual selling of their products) and clearly a name that could be misconstrued in this way could never be used. I wouldn't be surprised if they have been very adamant that their counter people stick to and direct customers to use the "Angus Third Pounder" terminology in order to avoid this potential misnomer disaster.

i haven't tried that burger because i don't think it's available here yet. to change the subject a little bit i think the two versions of the snack wrap are great for the price. 1.00 and 1.20. mcdonalds does get some things right. that is cheap eats.
