@seantroll – Well, this wouldn’t be a blog if there wasn’t at least ONE negative nellie reply. But it’s cool, you’re entitled to your opinion. I still don’t understand why people go out of their way to try and inform me that my writing or attempts at humor stink, when I’ve already said that it does. If you’re not having fun, why not just leave? I’d try read the other review blogs, there’s a ton of good ones out there. Now amscray, and please don’t come back.

wow. i’ve been reading for years, but have been checking far less often since you started the other blog. some constructive criticism – get rid of the crap. it’s not fun to have to scroll through 3 paragraphs of lame attempts at comedy to get to the actual review of the product.

Dear Mike,

At least that’s what I think I remember your name being from a previous review…my apologies if it isn’t.

Anyway, I’m a first time reader, disabled veteran and starving college student. I just wanted to let you know that I find your reviews thoughtfull, amusing, refreshing, and actualy quite helpfull! I originaly found your page by googling “Why do I crave smoked oysters?” wherein I came upon your blog about trying them. I have read several of your posts since then and added this page to my favorites for future enjoyable reading!

So, thank you again for your insightful banter, and…WRANKLE ON MAN!!!!

@ripp_t, @orchid – thanks, you made my day =) I need to go read up on Marvo though, I haven’t been keeping up lately.

@brook – oh man, we are still watching Season 4. The only reason Lost hasn’t made more of an appearance in the reviews is that I didn’t get into the show until this year! Need to catch up, please no one write any spoilers…

Personally, I think that what separates a truly great reviewer from a mediocre one is the ability to “wankle”. Let’s face it, product reviews are boring if all you do is talk in a cut and dry fashion about the product. They’re not only tedious to read, but also boring to write. Seriously, who wants to read the same descriptions of flavors, textures, packaging etc. again and again. There are only so many ways you can say such things.

Since no manufacturer gives me freebies or pays me, I’ll wankle all I want, and I read the blogs who do the same (like you and Marvo the marvelous at the Impulsive Buy).
