I came across a sort of interesting article on Weight Loss and Hypnosis online. I had no idea this type of thing was even seriously considered because of how hypnosis is viewed by the average person. But apparently hypnosis is being used in some medical conditions as an actual alternative way to treat a wide range of issues from smoking to

The professionals who actually do the hypnosis are called “hypnotherapists”. Some of these people have been saying that the numbers of people looking to use hypnosis as a possible additional treatment for weight problems has increased by a large amount. With more and more overweight people desperately looking for alternative methods to decrease their weight hypnotherapist report large increases in patients. But experts caution that it’s not meant as a cure-all “diet” in any way, and most patients who report success in using hypnosis have used it in conjunction with other lifestyle changes.

Had the same thought and just wrote about it as well… Hypnosis is a serious thing at least in the mental effects it can have. I think it is taken too lightly, not in its effectiveness but who is actually qualified to do it. It is advertised so much now as a quick fit solution when in reality it is more of a motivator, also can take of to 12 sessions and cost $100 or more. What drive me crazy is that we know had advice from womens magazines on how to self hypnotize, what rubbish.

Actually, self hypnosis is NOT rubbish. I teach clients every day how to calm their minds. Dis-ease happens in a body that is STRESSED. Learning to calm your mind and visualize yourself healthy will take you a LONG way to being healthy. I haven’t been to a doctor in over 15 years. I never have a cold, wouldn’t dream of taking a flu shot and am always full of energy. I use self hypnosis to keep myself relaxed.

Does that mean a person can do anything on their own without the help of a trained hypnotist? Probably not. I even go to other hypnotists. But there is a tremendous amount you can learn to do for yourself. All of us who are truly professionals in the holistic field believe in empowering our clients to take charge of their own health. Never give control of your health away to a doctor or a drug. Self hypnosis can teach you how to do that.
