2/15/05 | Pearlwear Wholesale Pearls
We recently tried ordering a few things from Pearlwear.com (I keep typing PearlWARE by accident… or maybe Perlware for you fellow geeks!).
Like the name implies, they specialize in freshwater cultured pearls but have a good selection of other precious stones as well. To keep prices low they import pearls and other gemstones direct from the Asiatic market. One thing they had that we have had a harder time tracking down at other places are both pear shaped faceted gemstones and heart shaped gemstones. These shapes are more “round” than the more standard elongated briolettes.
Our order was shipped pretty promptly and although the packaging was slightly rough (the order was just stuffed in a padded manilla envelope with a simple sales slip), it’s probably a result of them trying to keep their overhead low. In any case, the jewelry making materials we got were pretty decent both in quality and price.
