Clasp to Chain 4

Now all that’s left is to close up the wirewrap using the same techniques as before. Trim off the tag end of the wirewrap and you’re pretty much done. The finished clasp to chain combo is shown in Figure 4 above. This is a great way to connect pretty much any two closed loop metal items, and it does add a special touch to necklaces and clasps.

You can use this technique to have a lobster claw on one end of your chain connected via an accent bead, and on the other side of the necklace you can use an “empty loop” accent bead connected to chain to provide a loop for the claw to attach to. This also makes the necklace look nicely symmetrical in the back with two accents on either side of the clasp. Bracelets work the same way, and you can even extend this similarly to earrings by using an accent bead to connect your earring hook to chain.
