Closeup of Polishing Cloth from ConnoisseursHere’s a picture of what the Connoisseurs Silver Polishing Cloth looks like. They advertise it as a “Convenient Two-Cloth Dry-Cleaning System”. There are actually two cloths that are stuck together back to back. The “Inner” cloth (the lighter one in the picture) is the one that actually contains the “exclusive formula of silver cleaning agents” and it also has some chemicals that provide an anti-tarnish barrier.

The “Outer” cloth is merely a polishing and buffing cloth. I don’t believe there are actually chemicals on the outer cloth, and in fact this looks and feels exactly like the “eyeglass cloth” that comes with your glasses. Both cloths are made of 100% cotton fibers. This particular one is 11 inches by 14 inches in size. They recommend using it for watches, silver jewelry, silver plate, flatware, and holloware.

Connoisseurs is actually supposed to be the world leader in jewelry and silver care so I assume they probably know what they’re doing. I, for one, have always been sort of afraid of using any chemicals on silver whether they’re dry or not. I know that many people sell liquid Silver Jewelry Cleaners and that they even sell “Sonic” Jewelry Cleaning Appliances. But I’ve never had the courage to try these cleaning products. You might also remember me mentioning some people using a a Rock Tumbler to clean jewelry which I’m sad to say I haven’t tried yet.
