Spiral Earrings Fig 2aFirst clip off a four inch section of wire. Depending on the size of the spiral you are gonig to make, this might need to be longer or could be much shorter. Try and make a test one first (out of base metal obviously) to gauge the amount you’ll need.

Start off using your rotary plier to turn a simple loop at the end of the wire. You don’t need to complete it all the way, just as long as it’s nearly a circle.

Using your other hand start to shape the wire into a spiral around the loop that you’ve started out. It helps to grip the loop firmly with your fingers of one hand and use the other to “wrap” the wire in a circle around it. The loosen your grip and rotate the spiral a bit and continue the same process. Try and keep approximately 1/8 inch or so between the coils of the spiral… it looks better like that. You want to get maybe 3 to 6 spirals depending on your preference.
