Why Your Jewelry Company Name Shouldn’t Be The ONLY Thing In The Title

Ok, so it’s simple then you might say. Just put my Jewelry store’s name in the Title Tag and be done with it.

For the most part, that’s a good start at least. And if you are personally famous or run a well established company or have a really well known brand, then having just your name in the title is probably good enough. That’s because you can count on your brand or name to tell people most of what they need to know from a search engine result. Like if you are the Swarovksi company, I’m already going to know that you specialize in crystal. So there’s less need to get the word “crystal” into the title tag.

However, by carefully putting other descriptive phrases into the title tag, you can help search engines and web users find you by those important phrases. For a DIY jewelry maker or even a store that’s up and coming it’s pretty important to put those phrases in there.

Let’s put it this way. If I’m a web surfer interested in “Italian Charm Bracelets”, I will most likely type that phrase or some permutation in it into Google or Yahoo. I’m not likely to type in your store name “Aurora Bracelets” because I don’t know about your store yet. In addition, I probably wouldn’t type in just “Bracelets” because I’m interested in a particular type of bracelet, so even if you somehow ranked highly for that term, you’d be getting people who are not as likely to be interested exactly in Italian Charm Bracelets.

This is where putting the phrase in your title IN ADDITION to your company name will help. So, a good title might be something like: “Italian Charm Bracelets - Handmade by Aurora Bracelets”. This way you’re likely to turn up in searches for both your name AND what type of jewelry you make. Note: I’ve heard some people say, that it’s not a good idea to duplicate words, or put the same word adjacent to each other, or even close to each other because a search engine may penalize you. That may be something to think about, before you create a title tag like “Italian Charm Bracelets - Bracelets, Bracelets and More Bracelets by Aurora”.
