Ok, you’re just about done. Actually, in some case you might not need to do anything further. However, I’m a stickler for details, so what I like to do is to make sure that if there is any little “end” of the headpin wire sticking up that I squeeze that back down. I’ve seen wirewraps where people don’t bother, and it does take a little extra time. In addition, you need to be EXTREMELY careful not to accidently squeeze too hard and crack the stone or crystal.
Taking a chain nose plier, hold the drop in one hand and squeeze the tips of the plier down on the little end sticking out. And that’s it! Sometimes, the loop may refuse to cooperate and “spin” every time you try to get purchase. It takes some getting used to.
This is a picture of what the finished wirewrapped pendant looks like. Note that depending on what you are going to connect to the loop, or how you are going to string it, you may have to “rotate” the loop to be perpendicular or parallel to the drop. Just hold the drop and gently twist the loop to where you want it. It may be loose, or it may be tight. If it is tight, be careful that the tucked in end of wire does not “catch” on the drop, especially if it is crystal.
Ok, I hope this tutorial was informative and hopefully I will put up a couple more on wirewrapping other things soon!
