Libby Kerns Peach Nectar JuiceYou might already be familiar with the Kerns Nectar that comes in the larger milk-carton style containers, but they also offer them in single serving juice cans which can be handy for taking them on the go. There are a ton of juice nectar flavors available including: Guava, Mango, Strawberry/Banana, Apricot, Pineapple and of course this can of Peach Nectar.

I think a lot of people actually use Kerns Nectar (the parent company is actually Libby) to make smoothies and desserts, especially jello. This is because the “nectar” can actually be quite thick, depending on what fruit variety you are drinking. In fact, I often find that I need to dilute the nectar with a little water in order to make it more easily drinkable. This is because the nectar is made with puree concentrate as well as juice, and it certainly tastes good. This peach one I tried in particular is very rich and seems flavorful. Quite tasty actually, and if you like peaches you’ll dig this.

But before you think that you can just buy this stuff and use it as a replacement for actual juicing, remember that it of course has a ton of corn syrup and other flavorings added. Of course, a benefit is that shot of Vitamin C. Still, you’ll want to keep this as a minor addition to your normal juicing regimen rather than the centerpiece.

Juicing Basics Rating: 6 out of 10

I love Kerns peach nectar. It makes a great tea addition. I bought it at Wal-Mart last year, but I have not seen it this season. HELP!
