Ruby Red Tangerine JuiceI’m sure you’ve all done it at one time or another: you go to the supermarket on a last minute trip intending to pick up a particular bottle of juice, but in your rush to get in and out of the store, you pick up a different variety of juice. This is what happened to me with the Ruby Red Tangerine Juice from Ocean Spray.

Happily, the accident was a good one. You’re sure to know Ocean Spray from their Cranberry Juice but they make a ton of other juice combinations. This one is quite good… I’ve had their plain Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice as well and while it’s quite tasty and refreshing (and not as bitter as some other grapefruit juices) it has a bite that some people find hard to get used to.

So, I didn’t even know this was a Tangerine blend… I was just sipping it thinking, this is awfully mellow! And a bit sweet. And hey, how come it tastes like oranges? Then I looked at the bottle again and all my questions were answered.

The tangerine taste is actually subtle. It has a nice, non-aggressive orange taste to it… because it’s a citrus and citrus blend you might not even realize that it’s there. But you would realize if it WASN’T there, know what I mean?

I got the 64 fluid oz. size and these are once again the “Xmas tree” style bottles that I sort of like for easy grasping.

Looking at the color of the juice, it’s difficult to tell but it’s slightly more orange colored. I think you might be able to notice it more side by side.

As with most of the Ocean Spray brand, it ain’t the best of juice choices (try the Premium variety for the real deal). But once again, it’s great for mixers and probably better than drinking Hi-C…
