The other day when I was at TJ’s I took a chance on one of their juices. This is the Ginger Lemonade from Trader Joe’s and I’m actually sorry that I didn’t pick up more than one bottle.
I’ve actually had their 64 oz. Limeade bottled juice before and was quite pleased with it (though it was a bit on the extra acidic side, necessitating the addition of a bit of sugar to it). But they actually didn’t have any left when I went down there so I tried out this Ginger Lemonade in the same size bottle for $2.99.
The juice contains mostly water, organic sugar, organic lemon juice (and also from concentrate), and organic ginger juice. It’s interesting that I think there are bits of ginger inside or something so be sure to shake the bottle.
The flavor is a really refreshing summertime lemonade taste with the exotic taste of ginger layered on top of it. That hit of ginger is very pronounced, so if you aren’t fond of ginger you should stay far, far away from this juice blend.
For those who dig the slightly spicy taste of ginger, you are in for an unusual treat. Plus, remember that there are supposed to be all those benefits of ginger for the human body, particularly in the stomach. Lately, I’ve been eating a lot of ginger because of stomach troubles and it’s seemed to help make the problems go away quicker. Anyhow, at around 3 bucks this seems like a pretty good deal and a great summertime treat… at least for store bought juice.
