Many people are fans of orange juice in the morning, but there’s a lot of different juices you can put together for a nice breakfast blast. This one concentrates on the Vitamin C aspect of it all. It may be a bit sour for some because of the lemon and grapefruit. But hey, the whole idea is to wake you up, right?

If it’s too sour, you can either add a little sugar to the resulting drink or substitute an orange for the lemon.

Ingredients:

1/2 pineapple (cut up into “spears”)
1 pink grapefruit (peeled, white pith ok)
1 lemon (peeled, white pith ok)

Directions:

The pineapple can be tricky to prepare… I don’t think it’s a good idea to try juice it with the skin on. You pretty much need to cut it up like you’re going to eat it. “Spears” of pineapple seem to work better than large chunks of it, but you can try either.

Juice all the ingredients, pretty much in any order you’d like. You can save the pulp here, or not, all depends on you. Pour everything into a pitcher filled up with ice and that’s pretty much it.

Makes about 3 cups juice.
