Bialetta Moka

I have to admit that I’ve been thoroughly making use of my Senseo coffee machine lately - so I’m posting about the Biatletta mainly because I just like the way it looks. This is the three cup aluminum version which makes three 2 ounce cups of espresso in 5 minutes. I really like the old school Italian octagonal shape (they say it was originally introduced in 1933).
The espresso is made through a vacuum type process where pressurized water actually moves from the lower chamber up through the coffee and into the upper chamber of the pot. The top then flips up to let you pour the coffee right out. I’ve always wanted to try out the vacuum method in an espresso maker like this.
This polished aluminum pot is actually quite smaller than I had thought, at about 7 inches tall - I had thought it was a full size pot. Nevertheless, a great design and probably would fit in nice with any kitchen.
