Ergo-Sof PenAgain Pen • 5/24/06

We haven’t highlighted a pen on Paper Arts in awhile, and while writing implements aren’t made out of paper they do go hand in hand with many paper related things. This Ergo-Sof PenAgain Pen was just too cool and weird looking not to post. I mean, look at it! I’ve never seen such a wacky looking pen.

Pacific Writing Instruments, Inc. makes a number of these strange looking writing tools that almost remind me of a wishbone, or a divining rod. Or a spaceship!

I was sort of trying to figure out how you’d use one of these pens when I saw the picture at right. Your index finger slips through the notch and is supported by it, and then you just grasp the tip of the pen in the normal manner that you’d use to write. It sort of reminds me of a crutch for your finger.

Apparently, the whole purpose of this is for comfort and to help alleviate stress by allowing the natural weight of your hand to provide all the needed pressure for writing. So you won’t be grasping the tip as tightly as you would normally. At least that’s the theory… the description says that it “may help alleviate the symptoms of Writers Cramp, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Calluses, RSI, and Arthritis.” Well, even it is doesn’t work, you’ll have a conversation piece with this pen!

    Hello,

I did a google search on our Penagain product and found this blog. Thanks for the post. I would be glad to send Sherri a free sample for her son to try out. If you can pass this on to her I would appreciate it. I would just need a shipping address.

Can I get blue ink refills? I really dislike black ink - it’s so impersonal.
