Gift Wrapping Station • 12/21/06

The Paper Arts - Gift Wrap StationOk, one last post before I go into hibernation till the new year. I’ve been looking for some sort of way to organize gift wrap other than just chucking it into a paper bag. This rollable Gift Wrap Station seems to be on the right track, although you might be able to actually make something like this yourself. It’s basically a big flat piece of fabric that has compartments and pockets that you roll up, kind of like a knitting needle storage cozy.

It can store up to 7 rolls of wrapping paper which utilize built-in rods that can also be used to store spools of ribbon. Your other wrapping necessities like tape, scissors and bows can go in the pockets. A few things - this seems like a great deal until I realized that it doesn’t actually COME with any wrapping paper. You have to buy your own. Also, the wrapping station measures 70 x 21 inches. So the height is great, but the width may be a problem if like me you have those extra long rolls of wrapping paper.

This is meant to be stored above the inside of your closet door, but when rolled up you can carry it like a duffel bag. Actually, I’ve seen a couple of DIY projects for wrapping paper holders which basically use long pieces of ribbon attached at both ends that allow you to just pull wrapping paper off… maybe one of these days we’ll make a tutorial here for that!

I am looking for a wrapping paper station where the rolls are on a tube and has a cutting blade to tear off , like a department store.
