Stick Boy Match Girl Notecards • 1/26/06
I was looking on Amazon the other day at some unrelated non-paper things having to do with Tim Burton and came across this unusual set of note cards and envelopes. Burton is best known for his semi-creepy but cutely animated horror cartoons such as “The Nightmare Before Christmas”.
This stationery set of 8 notecards and envelopes (featuring 2 original designs) actually comes with figurines of his odd and weird couple Stick Boy and Match Girl along with a poem card that tells how of their romance. What is also interesting is that everything is put together in what looks like a giant paper matchbox that slides out to reveal the figures and notecards. Kinda neat, maybe a cool gift for your valentine if they’ve got a soft spot for slightly creepier paper arts. I believe this is published through the comic book company Dark Horse, but I could be wrong.
